The World Food Program (WFP) announced that humanitarian assistance operations in the Amhara region are facing significant logistical challenges due to ongoing security challenges and limited access.

In its assessment report on the Amhara region, the organization noted that the security situation, especially in Metema and #East_Amhara regions, is significantly delaying the transportation of aid supplies.

The report notes that there is a lack of commercial transport services in various areas, which is hindering the timely delivery of aid to affected communities.

The World Food Programme said that despite these constraints, the logistics cluster continues to provide shared services, including transport, storage and coordination, to enable humanitarian partners to continue their work in conflict-affected areas.
