Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has urged President Donald Trump to remove 3,000 federal personnel deployed in the state following a fatal incident in Minneapolis on Saturday.

Federal forces were involved in an operation that left a second individual dead, intensifying tensions between residents, city officials, and federal authorities. One of the victims, Alexis Prity, reportedly an intensive care unit nurse, was killed during a coordinated federal operation. A 37-year-old man was also shot, prompting local protests.

While initial clashes involved looters confronting federal forces, subsequent demonstrations have largely remained peaceful. Community members have held memorials to remember those who lost their lives during prior unrest.

State and federal authorities have issued overlapping explanations regarding the incident, but calls continue from Minnesota leaders and local organizations for the withdrawal of federal personnel to ease tensions.
