Veritas Establishes First African Manufacturing Base in Morocco

Veritas is expanding into Africa with a new manufacturing operation in Tangier, Morocco, as the automotive supplier positions itself closer to vehicle manufacturers and component producers increasing their presence in North Africa.

The 5,000-square-metre facility, including 3,835 square metres of production space, is the company’s first operation in Morocco and on the African continent. Production is expected to start in the third quarter of 2027, with the plant equipped for extrusion manufacturing.

The move gives Veritas a local manufacturing base in a market that has attracted growing investment from global automotive companies and Tier 1 suppliers. The company said the new facility will help it serve existing customers, compete for new programmes and respond more directly to demand in Morocco and neighbouring markets.

Veritas supplies rubber, plastic, aluminium and steel components used in automotive cooling, fluid management and climate control systems.

The Tangier project is also the company’s first brownfield manufacturing investment since Veritas and HDT Automotive were unified in 2024. The company said the expansion forms part of its strategy to reshape its manufacturing footprint around customer demand and its international growth plans.

Jawad Miraoui has been appointed general manager of the Tangier facility. He brings more than 18 years of experience in the automotive sector, including operations management, supply chain management and the launch of new manufacturing plants.

Miraoui said the company would focus on developing a local workforce and building the facility into a manufacturing operation capable of supporting customers from Morocco.

“This facility is an important milestone for Veritas in a key automotive growth region,” he said. “We look forward to building a strong local team and establishing a world-class operation that supports our customers from this strategic location.”
