The United States has offered rewards of up to 50 million US dollars for information leading to the arrest or conviction of three senior leaders of Venezuelan criminal organisation Tren de Aragua, increasing its financial incentives as authorities pursue the group's alleged transnational operations.

The US Department of State announced the rewards in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Department of Justice under its Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program.

The largest offer, up to 20 million US dollars, is for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Yohan José Romero, also known as Yohan Petrica, whom US court documents identify as the group's current leader. The reward was increased from 4 million US dollars.

The State Department also raised its offer for Giovanni Vicente Mosquera Serrano, known as Giovanni and El Viejo, from 5 million US dollars to 15 million US dollars. A separate reward of up to 15 million US dollars was introduced for Juan Gabriel Rivas Núñez, also known as Juancho.

According to US court documents, Romero directs the group's operations, including alleged narcotics trafficking, illegal gold mining in Venezuela and murders.

Mosquera Serrano and Rivas Núñez are identified as his deputies. Mosquera Serrano allegedly oversees operations in the United States, Colombia and Central America, while Rivas Núñez is responsible for activities in Venezuela.

Mosquera Serrano is also on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list and has been accused of directing violent crimes involving robbery, extortion and kidnapping.

The reward announcement follows a superseding indictment filed on July 29, 2026, in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas. The three men were charged with conspiracy to provide, providing and attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organisation.

Mosquera Serrano faces additional charges relating to international cocaine distribution and conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

Tren de Aragua was designated a foreign terrorist organisation by the Trump administration in 2025. The latest reward offers form part of Washington's efforts to pursue the group's leadership and disrupt its alleged criminal activities across multiple countries.
