A new series of U.S.-facilitated discussions aimed at resolving Russia's conflict with Ukraine is scheduled to proceed this week following a short delay, as stated by a senior official from the Kremlin on Monday.

These negotiations will occur amidst ongoing front-line skirmishes and lethal long-range assaults on rear regions.

The trilateral discussions are set for Wednesday and Thursday in Abu Dhabi, where a prior meeting took place last month, as confirmed by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday that he would be dispatching a delegation to the conference, which was originally planned for the weekend but postponed due to what Peskov described as scheduling conflicts.

Over the past year, the Trump administration has urged both parties to reach compromises. However, as the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of its neighbor approaches later this month, breaking the impasse on critical issues seems no closer.

Peskov characterized the discussions as "highly intricate."

"In certain areas, we have undoubtedly made progress as a result of our discussions and conversations, and in some matters, it is simpler to reach a consensus," he informed the press.

"However, there are topics where it is more challenging to establish common ground."
