The US State Department has announced that it has revoked the visas of more than 6,000 international students for violating US law and overstaying.

The office said the "majority" of violations were assault, including driving under drugs and alcohol, theft, and "supporting terrorism."

The ministry's move comes as the Trump administration continues its crackdown on undocumented immigrants and international students.

While the State Department did not clarify what it meant by "supporting terrorism," the Trump administration accused some students of anti-Semitic behavior after they protested in support of Palestine.

The ministry announced that of the 6,000 student visas that were revoked, about 4,000 were revoked for violating the country's laws.
