The United Nations (UN) Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that Ethiopia needs about 80 billion birr for humanitarian assistance for the next three months of 2025.

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has recently released a document outlining financial needs for the emergency response from July to September 2025.

The Office, which presented a document detailing the funding shortfall for critical humanitarian assistance for the third quarter of 2025, called for coordinated, needs-based, rapid, and meaningful engagement.

The document, which states that critical life-saving activities may be disrupted if urgent assistance is not received, also notes a serious financial shortage in the Tigray region.
