The United Nations has said "justice must be served" after Israel carried out a series of attacks on a Gaza hospital, killing at least 20 people.

The Israeli Defense Forces said in a statement that the attack targeted a "camera set up by Hamas."

The attack, which killed five journalists and four health workers, has drawn growing condemnation from many quarters, with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer describing it as "absolutely unjustifiable".

On Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that it had found several "gaps" in the attack and that further investigation was needed.

This came as Israelis held protests across the country demanding their government accept a ceasefire offer to release the hostages.
