The UN General Assembly has passed a draft resolution demanding Israel's withdrawal from the Palestinian territories it has occupied since 1967, which includes East Jerusalem.

Additionally, it urged nations not to acknowledge any alterations to the pre-1967 borders, particularly concerning Jerusalem, and to refrain from offering any support for illegal settlement activities, whether directly or indirectly.

This draft resolution, authored by Djibouti, Jordan, Mauritania, Qatar, Senegal, and Palestine, received approval with 151 votes in favor, 11 against, and 11 abstentions.

In July of the previous year, the International Court of Justice determined that Israel's ongoing presence in the occupied Palestinian territory is unlawful and should cease "as swiftly as possible."
