On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced that his strategy to conclude the conflict in Ukraine has been "fine-tuned."

He is dispatching envoy Steve Witkoff to engage with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, who will meet with Ukrainian officials.

Trump indicated that he might eventually hold discussions with both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, although this would only occur after further advancements in negotiations.

While addressing reporters on Tuesday evening aboard Air Force One, Trump acknowledged the complexities involved in resolving the war and characterized what was initially a 28-point plan as still evolving.

"That was not a plan it was a concept," Trump remarked. Last week, Trump unveiled his proposal for ending the nearly four-year conflict, which appeared to heavily favor Russia.

This prompted Zelenskyy to promptly engage with American negotiators.

Meanwhile, European leaders, concerned about their own security in the face of Russian aggression and seemingly excluded by Trump from the proposal's development, rushed to influence the negotiations to address their interests.

Trump expressed his belief that Witkoff would be having a meeting with Putin in Moscow next week, with the possibility of his son-in-law Jared Kushner attending the meeting.
