US President Donald Trump has urged a group of countries to simultaneously join the Abraham Accords as part of a broader diplomatic effort linked to negotiations aimed at ending the war with Iran.

The countries named include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan. Pakistan has rejected the proposal, while the remaining countries have not yet issued public responses.

The Abraham Accords, originally signed during Trump’s first term, established formal relations between Israel and several Arab states. Trump said he was “mandatorily requesting” countries to sign the agreements immediately.

The initiative comes as Washington continues diplomatic efforts connected to the Iran conflict.

Trump indicated that most of the countries he spoke with should be willing to support the initiative.
