President Donald J. Trump has nominated Kevin Warsh as the next Chairman of the Federal Reserve, placing a former crisis-era governor and Wall Street veteran at the helm of the world’s most influential central bank, the White House announced Friday.

Warsh, who served as the youngest-ever Federal Reserve governor, was a key architect of policy decisions during the 2008 financial meltdown, navigating interest rates and market interventions that helped stabilise the U.S. financial system. His nomination marks a return of seasoned institutional experience at a time when the Fed faces mounting pressures from global markets, inflationary trends, and geopolitical uncertainty.

Before joining the Federal Reserve, Warsh advised the Bush Administration on economic strategy and held senior positions at Morgan Stanley, blending public policy insight with private sector acumen. A graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Law School, he is recognised for bridging the worlds of finance and government.
