President Donald Trump has unveiled a new federal website, TrumpRx.gov, allowing Americans to access discounted prescription medications, Bloomberg reports. The initiative aims to address cost-of-living concerns as voters prepare for November’s congressional elections.

Trump said at a White House event on Thursday that the platform will provide “dozens of the most commonly used prescription drugs… at dramatic discounts for all consumers.” He was joined by Mehmet Oz, administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, government design chief Joe Gebbia, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., secretary of Health and Human Services.

The site does not sell medicines directly. Instead, it directs users to manufacturer or pharmacy channels and provides downloadable coupons for discounted purchases. Participating companies include Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, AstraZeneca, Merck, and EMD Serono. Initial offerings cover more than 40 medicines, including weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy and certain fertility treatments.

The Trump administration emphasises that these discounts are generally available to cash-paying patients and do not count toward insurance deductibles. Some experts note that insured patients may still find lower costs through their insurance plans for generic or commonly covered medications.

The platform builds on broader federal efforts to reduce drug prices under a “most favored nation” framework, which seeks to bring U.S. costs closer to those in other developed markets. Users can print or download coupons from the site for redemption at participating pharmacies, providing a direct-to-consumer route to lower prices.
