US President Donald Trump announced that Uzbekistan will invest more than 100 billion US dollars in the United States over the next decade, describing it as an “incredible trade and economic deal” between the two countries, as reported by Bloomberg.

In a post on social media, Trump said the Central Asian nation would invest nearly 35 billion US dollars within the next three years, expanding to over 100 billion US dollars in ten years. The investment will target key American sectors, including critical minerals, aviation, automotive parts, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, chemicals, and information technology.

The announcement followed a meeting at the White House between Trump and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, alongside leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. The discussions formed part of Washington’s broader effort to strengthen economic and strategic ties with mineral-rich Central Asian nations.

The White House has not provided additional details about the scope of the deal. Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product stood at just under 115 billion US dollars in 2024, according to World Bank data, highlighting the scale of the investment relative to the country’s economy.

Earlier this year, Uzbekistan Airways finalised its largest-ever aircraft purchase, agreeing to buy Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets in a deal valued at more than 8 billion US dollars. The purchase was also highlighted by Trump as a sign of deepening trade relations between the two countries.
