The President of the United States, Donald Trump, referred to the leaders of European countries as "weak," suggesting that Washington should reduce its support for Ukraine as it sees fit. In a broad interview with a digital media outlet in America, Trump stated that European nations are "on the verge of collapse."

These countries have claimed that they are not taking decisive action to manage the influx of refugees or to halt the war that Ukraine is engaged in with Russia.

They have indicated that Ukraine is prepared to fight "until it falls."

European leaders have expressed concern that America's leadership in peace efforts could be compromised, as they believe that a swift resolution would undermine the region's long-term stability.

Consequently, they have attempted to emphasize their role in supporting America's efforts to end the conflict.

In response to Trump's remarks, the United Kingdom's Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly, highlighted the importance of investment in defense and the financial assistance being provided to Ukraine, asserting that this demonstrates Europe's "strength."

The Foreign Secretary also noted that Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are working towards peace, stating, "They are working for peace," and that "one president (President Vladimir Putin) has so far been engaged in aggression and violence."
