The Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) has called on the African Union and international partners to convene an urgent meeting to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Tigray region.

In a letter to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Yusuf, the TPLF stated that the situation in the displacement centers in the region is deteriorating rapidly and urged urgent action to ensure access to humanitarian aid.

The organization, which noted that the displaced are facing severe food shortages and the death toll is rising, emphasized that "the situation violates the Pretoria peace agreement."

In its letter, the TPLF called on the African Union and its partners to demand immediate and unconditional access to humanitarian aid to all displaced persons' camps, and to press for an independent investigation into the allegations of aid being cut off and the reported deaths.

"The Pretoria Agreement cannot be said to have been implemented while the people who were promised protection are dying in front of the international community," the TPLF letter warned, warning that failure to take action is complicity.
