
Journalist Tesfalem Woldeyes, founder and editor of the online media outlet 'Ethiopia Insider', has been named among this year's "Hero of Press Freedom" awardees.
Journalist Tesfalem Woldeyes was selected as one of seven journalists to receive this year's award, which is organized annually by the International Press Institute.
This award is jointly presented by the International Press Institute (IPI) and the International Media Support (IMS).
The international award is given to journalists who have made a significant contribution to the freedom of the press, risking their personal safety for the unfettered flow of news and information.
Journalists and editors from seven different countries have been selected for this World Press Freedom Hero Award, along with the award.
The awardees announced in an official statement that journalist Tesfalem was selected for the award "for his unwavering commitment to independent journalism."
Tesfalem expressed his joy by saying, "I feel very honored to have been selected for this great award," according to his website.
