Former State Minister of Peace and member of the Oromia Regional Council, Ato Taye Dendea, was acquitted of two of the three charges brought against him by the prosecutor, but found guilty of one.

On November 12, 2025, the Federal High Court, which heard the case of Mr. Taye found him guilty of three charges of violating the Arms Act.

Ato Taye's lawyer, Ato Abera nigusse, confirmed that his client was acquitted of two charges in court today.

The charges against Ato Taye are two serious charges of "colluding with the enemy" and "making preparations" to attack the National Defense Forces.

It is noteworthy that the charges against the defendant, for which the court has now acquitted him, were previously dismissed in court, but the decision to retry them is still pending.

After being acquitted of two of the three charges against Ato Taye, he was found guilty of possessing an illegal weapon and was scheduled to be sentenced on November 23, 2025, his lawyer said.
