South Africa’s Tyityaba Nature Reserve Listed in Rare Large-Scale Land Sale

A 13,000-hectare conservation estate on South Africa’s Wild Coast has been placed on the market, with Tyityaba Nature Reserve listed at an indicative price of 145 million rand, equivalent to about 8.9 million United States dollars, according to selling agent Bass Property Group.

The property is located in the Eastern Cape, approximately 18 kilometres inland from Kei Mouth, and holds the legal status of a gazetted proclaimed reserve under South African law.

Its scale and protected status make it a rare listing in the regional land market, where large conservation estates of this nature seldom change ownership.

The reserve spans a diverse natural environment along the Wild Coast, incorporating bushveld, riverine thicket and valley grassland ecosystems. It also includes around 26 kilometres of frontage along the Kei River.

Wildlife is already established on the property, including buffalo, giraffe, leopard, zebra, blue wildebeest, eland and impala.

Infrastructure on the estate includes a main lodge with eight en-suite bedrooms and shared entertainment spaces, alongside farm dwellings that can be used for staff housing or expanded accommodation.
