Somalia and Saudi Arabia have signed a memorandum of understanding to further strengthen their defense and military cooperation.

The agreement aims to expand security cooperation between the two countries and strengthen stability in the Red Sea region, the Somali Ministry of Defense said.

The agreement, signed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by Somali Defense Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiki and his Saudi counterpart Prince Khalid bin Salman, covers a range of joint military and defense issues.

This is not the first time that Somalia has signed a military and economic agreement with another country.

It is worth noting that similar agreements were previously reached with Turkey and Egypt, and Israel is trying to get several countries to stand by its side after recently recognizing Somaliland as a state.
