Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisalam Ali, met with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelati, in Cairo on Thursday for high-level diplomatic consultations, Somali News Agency (SONA) reported.

The discussions focused on reinforcing the historical ties between the two countries and reaffirming their positions on key regional issues. Both ministers explored ways to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in coordinating shared political and security interests.

Officials said the talks are expected to further strengthen the long-standing relationship between Mogadishu and Cairo.
