The government of Somalia has announced the termination of its relationship with the United Arab Emirates and has generally indicated that two agreements have been annulled.

Following a discussion held by the Council of Ministers of Somalia, a statement was released confirming the cancellation of agreements made with the United Arab Emirates.

This includes agreements related to defense, security, and protection. Additionally, agreements concerning the regions of Berbera, Bosaso, and Kismayo have also been revoked, along with those established with federal and regional institutions in Somalia.

The agreement regarding the Berbera port was established in 2016 between the administration of Somaliland and DP World.

It is stated that the federal government of Somalia is aware of this agreement, yet it remains in a state of contention as it is being challenged.

The Somali government has clarified that its decision is aimed at safeguarding the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and constitutional order.

The government of Somalia has taken measures to ensure the country's independence, national unity, and political legitimacy, as evidenced by the actions it has undertaken to achieve these goals.
