The Office of the President of Seychelles has appointed Rodney Bonne as Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority, elevating a veteran marine scientist and environmental manager to lead the country’s conservation and protected areas agency.

Bonne brings more than 18 years of experience across marine research, fisheries science, environmental management and public sector leadership. His appointment reflects a continued emphasis on technical expertise in the stewardship of Seychelles’ fragile marine and terrestrial ecosystems.

He most recently served as Head of Marine Research at the Seychelles National Parks and Gardens Authority, where he was involved in advancing marine conservation programmes, scientific research and sustainable resource management initiatives.

Over the course of his career, Bonne has held roles spanning research scientist, park officer, fisheries science lecturer, aquaculture scientist and assistant research officer, contributing to the development of Seychelles’ marine and environmental sectors.

He holds a Professional Master’s Degree in Fishery (Aquaculture) and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with specialisation in Marine and Fisheries Science from the University of Seychelles.

The government said the appointment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional leadership in environmental governance and protected area management.
