At least seven people have been killed in a shooting at a school in British Columbia, Canada, police say.

Six people were found dead at Tumbler Ridge High School, and one died on the way to the hospital.

The suspect in the shooting also died from self-inflicted injuries, authorities said.

Two other individuals were found dead in a separate area and may be linked to the school shooting, police said.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called the attack “tragic” and canceled plans to travel to Germany.

Police did not release any further information about the weapon used in the attack or other details.
