South Korea's government has held an emergency meeting after the Trump administration detained hundreds of South Koreans.

The Trump administration says the arrests of the South Koreans are part of its crackdown on illegal immigrants.

It has detained 475 people who worked at a Hyundai battery factory. Many of them are South Koreans.

The South Korean government condemned the incident and said it would defend its citizens.

It has sent diplomats to Georgia to discuss the issue.

The White House has defended the move, saying it was aimed at hunting down illegal immigrants and not at hurting foreign investment.

Donald Trump said that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) task force was "doing its job, and these people were illegal immigrants."

Footage circulating on social media shows the South Koreans, dressed in their yellow work clothes with the logos of their companies LG and Hyundai, being led to a police car while tying a gun.
