Russian e-commerce and advertising firm RWB is looking at Ethiopia as its next market. The company met with officials in Addis Ababa on Thursday to explore opportunities in logistics and digital trade.
RWB’s team walked through the company’s global operations, from product fulfilment to distribution and returns management, signalling a clear interest in leveraging Ethiopia’s growing logistics infrastructure. The firm already operates internationally, with facilities in Northern Ireland and registrations in both Ireland and the UK.
Ethiopia has been building the foundations for digital trade and e-commerce. Last year, Ethiopian Airlines opened a dedicated e-commerce logistics hub at Bole International Airport, designed to speed up mail, courier, and online retail services. Officials see this as part of a wider push to turn Ethiopia into a regional logistics hub.
State Minister of Transport and Logistics, Denge Boru, highlighted the country’s focus on expanding e-commerce and digital trade solutions. Both sides agreed to continue talks, looking at technical collaboration and potential investments to make the partnership a reality.
