Two people were killed and two others wounded after Russia launched strikes on Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region using bombs, drones and missiles, Ukrainian police said on Friday.

Five more people, including three children, required medical assistance after Russian strikes hit Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Telegram.

The attacks add to continued Russian bombardment of northeastern Ukraine, where communities near the border have faced repeated strikes.

Ukrainian authorities did not immediately provide further details on the extent of damage or the specific targets hit.

The latest attacks come as Russia and Ukraine continue fighting across multiple areas of the front line, with both sides maintaining military pressure.
