Russian forces launched a series of attacks on Kyiv early Tuesday, targeting residential buildings and energy infrastructure, local authorities reported.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Kitschko said a residential building in the central Pechersk district and another in the eastern Dniprovskyi district sustained heavy damage. Video footage circulating on Telegram showed a large fire consuming multiple floors of the nine-story building in Dniprovskyi.

Tymor Tkachenko, head of Kyiv city administration, confirmed at least four people were injured. Ukraine’s energy ministry reported damage to energy facilities, without providing details on the scale or type of impact.

The strikes came shortly after U.S. and Ukrainian officials met in Geneva on Sunday to discuss a peace plan brokered by the U.S. and Russia. Oleksandr Bevz, a Ukrainian delegate, told The Associated Press that the talks were “very constructive” and that most issues had been addressed. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that Moscow had not yet reviewed the updated plan.
