Russian forces carried out drone and missile attacks on Ukraine during the night leading into Friday, killing three people and injuring at least 16 in the capital, Ukrainian officials reported.

The assault also targeted critical infrastructure in the western city of Lviv, where Mayor Andriy Sadoviy confirmed that an unidentified ballistic missile struck the area. Ukraine’s Air Force Western Command stated that the missile was travelling at approximately 13,000 kilometers (over 8,000 miles) per hour, with investigations ongoing to identify the specific type of rocket used.

In Kyiv, several districts were affected. In the Desnyanskyi district, a drone crashed onto the roof of a multi-story building, while another residential structure suffered damage to its first two floors. In the Dnipro district, debris from a drone caused damage to a multi-story building and sparked a fire.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the attack disrupted electricity and running water in parts of the city. The strikes followed a warning by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier in the day regarding an imminent Russian offensive.
