The Sudanese rebel Rapid Response Force has built a training camp in the Benishangul Gumuz region, which borders Sudan, which is embroiled in a civil war, according to sources and satellite images, Reuters reported.

The news agency also reported that sources said that most of the recruits in this camp, which is said to be training in the United Arab Emirates, are Ethiopian.

Reuters reported on Tuesday that it compiled the investigation using Ethiopian government and diplomatic sources. The report also included information from Ethiopia's security establishment and the diplomatic community, as well as satellite images showing the camp.

According to a Reuters report, the camp, which is said to be training the rebel forces that have been fighting the Sudanese army since 2023, is located in a place called "Menge" in the Benishangul Gumuz region.

The camp is located in a place that borders Ethiopia, Sudan, and South Sudan, and is 32 kilometers from the border, the report said.

Reuters reports: "Eight sources, including a senior Ethiopian government official, said the United Arab Emirates had funded the construction of the camp, as well as provided military trainers and logistical support for the site."
