Romania Accuses Tate Brothers of Making $1.2m From Sexual Exploitation

Romanian prosecutors have accused social media personalities Andrew and Tristan Tate of generating more than $1.2 million from the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor, adding a new set of charges to the brothers’ long-running legal troubles.

The Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) alleges that a girl was coerced into performing sexual acts during video chats from which money was generated.

Andrew Tate, 39, faces charges including trafficking in minors, money laundering and sexual intercourse with a minor. His brother Tristan, 38, has been charged with complicity in trafficking in minors and money laundering.

The latest Romanian case comes as the brothers face separate legal proceedings in the United Kingdom. They are currently being held in Miami while contesting extradition to Britain over unrelated allegations.

The Tates have denied the accusations against them. The new proceedings add to a series of criminal investigations involving the brothers, whose large social media following has made their legal cases the subject of international attention.
