Rammis Bank Returns to Profit With Revenue Surpassing 400 Million Birr

Rammis Bank reported more than 400 million birr in total revenue in the 2024/25 Ethiopian fiscal year as the interest-free lender returned to profitability. Total assets at the lender exceeded 4.2 billion birr, up eighty five percent from the previous year.

Rammis Bank said the growth in assets was supported by a sharp rise in net profit, which increased by one hundred one percent. Customer deposits grew by one hundred seventy three percent, while foreign currency earnings rose by seven thousand seven hundred eighty percent, allowing the bank to accumulate 20 million US dollars.

The bank, established with 2.1 billion birr in registered capital and 6,325 shareholders, expanded its branch network to forty seven and increased its customer base to 352,000, a ninety three percent rise from the previous year.

Rammis Bank said it is implementing a three-year corporate strategy focused on widening access to interest-free services. Digital services have expanded significantly, with users of the bank’s USSD platform rising by 1,802 percent. The bank is also offering mobile banking, internet banking, wallet services and e-Murabaha products as part of its technology rollout.
