Prosperity Party Appoints Opposition Figures to 275 Leadership Roles

The ruling Prosperity Party announced that it has given 275 government leadership positions, including four ministers and three state ministers, to leaders from rival political parties, in a process it says is part of its efforts to broaden its political horizons.

This was announced during a meeting with the Vice President and Secretary General of the Prosperity Party, Ato Adem Farah, during a visit to the headquarters of the Prosperity Party yesterday, the party announced in a statement posted on its official social media pages.

According to the party, Ambassador Welch, along with his delegation, held discussions with Mr. Adam on the role of party diplomacy in governance, development cooperation, and strengthening relations between Ethiopia and the United Kingdom.

Ato Adem stated that the party is preparing for the next general election and will work diligently to ensure a "fair democratic competition platform" by competing in a "responsible and effective manner" in line with the election schedule of the Electoral Board, according to the Prosperity Party information.
