Former U.S. President Donald J. Trump, who has made millions from his crypto ventures since taking office, is now entering the phone industry.
His sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., who oversee the Trump family business, announced in New York that they are partnering with major phone service providers to launch a new service targeting customers who use less data.
This business model has gained popularity, particularly in rural areas where residents often require less data and slower speeds. The sector has also attracted investors' attention. Notably, a phone company backed by Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds was recently sold to T-Mobile for $1.35 billion.
Trump, who has seen a resurgence in business success since winning a second term, may be well-positioned to convince his large rural support base to switch to his new phone service.
