It was reported that more than 150 prisoners were released in an attack carried out by The Oromo Liberation Army in Gida Ayana Woreda, Gida town, East Welega Zone,

Oromia Regional State today.

Most of the prisoners are said to be militants who were carrying out attacks in the area.

It was reported that the group had stolen several Kalashnikovs and that government security forces had begun searching for the escaped prisoners, leading to heightened tension in the area.
