The Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) has welcomed the 2024 US State Department report on human rights in Ethiopia and called for an independent international investigation into the human rights violations highlighted in the report. It also urged the US to reconsider its support for the Ethiopian government.

In a statement issued, OLA said the report “reaffirms the truth of the systemic terror, state-sanctioned brutality, and deep-rooted impunity that our people have experienced over the past seven years.”

Regarding the fact that OLA was only mentioned in a limited place in the report, he stated that investigations conducted by independent and credible media institutions, such as Reuters and The Washington Post, have confirmed that most of the crimes attributed to the Oromo Liberation Army were committed by government forces or groups supported by the government.

It has also been confirmed that he is willing to cooperate with independent bodies to investigate the crimes committed against him.
