A North Carolina man has been sentenced to 210 months in prison for distributing large quantities of methamphetamine, including kilogram-level shipments in Burke and Catawba counties.

Reginald Curtis, 47, of Morganton, was also sentenced to five years of supervised release following his prison term, the US Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina said.

Court records show that Curtis sold nearly half a kilogram of methamphetamine to an undercover officer in December 2023. During a second controlled purchase the following month, the officer bought approximately one kilogram of the drug from Curtis.

The investigation continued until August 2024, when Burke County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped Curtis’s vehicle. A subsequent search found approximately 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

Curtis pleaded guilty in October 2025 to distributing methamphetamine and aiding and abetting.

Russ Ferguson, US Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, said the case involved wholesale-level drug distribution.

“People like Curtis, who traffic methamphetamine by the kilogram, are supplying the drug dealers,” Ferguson said. “Getting wholesale drug distributors off the street is a key step in making our communities safer.”

The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
