Nigeria’s Sunbeth Global Concepts has repaid a 25.1 billion naira commercial paper on schedule, after its three debt issuances earlier this year attracted subscriptions worth 165.73 billion naira, well above the initial target.

The agro-commodities sourcing and trading company redeemed its Series 1 Commercial Paper in full on September 4, 2026, under a 200 billion naira Commercial Paper Programme approved in March to support the expansion of its agricultural export operations.

Sunbeth launched three commercial paper series in March with a combined target of 100 billion naira. Investor subscriptions reached 165.73 billion naira, of which the company accepted 150.4 billion naira.

The Series 1 redemption is the first maturity under the programme and comes as Sunbeth expands its operations in Nigeria’s agricultural export sector, particularly cocoa and cashew.

“Meeting our Series 1 obligation in full and on schedule reflects the strength of our business fundamentals, prudent financial management and the confidence investors have placed in Sunbeth,” said Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, chief executive of Sunbeth Global Concepts.

“Credibility is earned through consistent performance, transparency and honouring our commitments. As we continue to scale our participation across the agricultural value chain, maintaining that discipline remains central to how we grow.”

Adeyemi Aduwo, chief financial officer, said the repayment reflected the company’s approach to capital and liquidity management.

“Our focus remains on deploying capital efficiently, maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring that our growth is supported by a funding structure that enables us to meet our obligations as they fall due,” he said.

Sunbeth has exported more than 200,000 tonnes of cocoa beans and 60,000 tonnes of cashew nuts to international markets since beginning operations less than a decade ago.

The company works directly with more than 30,000 farmers and more than 250 local buying agents across Nigeria. Its international partners include Cargill, GCB Group, JB Cocoa, Touton, Macquarie and StoneX.

Sunbeth has A2 short-term ratings from DataPro, GCR, Agusto & Co. and Intelligence Africa. Its long-term ratings range from BBB to A.

The company’s Commercial Paper Programme is subject to the disclosure and reporting requirements of FMDQ Securities Exchange, providing investors with continuing information on its financial position and performance.

Sunbeth said it plans to increase procurement capacity, deepen international partnerships and expand into higher-value segments of the agricultural value chain in Nigeria and other sub-Saharan African markets.
