Mugabe’s Son Fined and Ordered for Deportation by South African Court

Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe, the youngest son of the late Robert Mugabe, has been ordered for deportation and fined by a South African court for immigration violations and pointing a toy gun. He was arrested in February following a shooting incident at a Johannesburg mansion.

The court imposed fines totaling 600,000 rand (approximately 24,100 US dollars). While the toy gun charge was linked to a separate event, a co-accused, Tobias Matonhodze, pleaded guilty to attempted murder regarding the shooting of a mansion worker.

Evidence presented at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court showed the injured worker reached a partial compensation settlement of 250,000 rand. Matonhodze was sentenced to three years in prison before facing his own deportation.
