Morocco’s economy is expected to accelerate in the near term before gradually cooling later in the decade, with a rebound in agriculture and sustained infrastructure investment driving growth, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

The OECD projects gross domestic product growth at 5 percent in 2026, up from 4.6 percent in 2025, before easing to 3.9 percent in 2027 as temporary drivers fade.

A sharp recovery in agricultural output sits at the centre of the outlook. Following years of drought conditions, improved rainfall during the winter season has boosted water reserves and strengthened crop prospects.

Infrastructure investment remains another key pillar supporting activity, with ongoing projects in transport systems, urban development and industrial capacity continuing to sustain construction and manufacturing output.

Inflation is expected to rise temporarily as a result, with consumer price growth projected to increase from 0.7 percent in 2025 to 3.2 percent in 2026 before easing to 1.4 percent in 2027.

The OECD also pointed to mixed external sector dynamics. While volatility in global energy and fertiliser markets could support Morocco’s phosphate exports, it could also raise import costs.
