The Trump administration is sending hundreds of federal personnel to Minneapolis following the death of 37-year-old American citizen Daunte Wright, amid ongoing protests across the United States.

Kristi Noem, Minnesota’s Minister of Internal Affairs, told Fox News that federal ice and border enforcement operations in the city would continue “without any issues” as the reinforcements arrive.

The deployment comes despite local officials reporting no major incidents that would justify such a scale of federal intervention. Nevertheless, authorities have framed the move as a precaution against potential disruptions.

The additional personnel are expected to arrive over the next two days. Noem warned that anyone attempting to interfere with federal operations could face legal consequences. “If there are attempts to exert power over law enforcement, and if they interfere with our operations, that constitute a crime. Therefore, they will be held accountable for their actions,” she said.

Protests have persisted in Minneapolis as well as in Austin, Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles, reflecting widespread public discontent over Wright’s death.
