Man Pleads Guilty After Deadly Attack on Israeli Hostage Rally in Colorado

A man accused of a firebomb attack on a demonstration supporting Israeli hostages has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the US state of Colorado, in a case that left one person dead and several others injured.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman entered the guilty plea during a court hearing on Thursday. Prosecutors said Soliman used Molotov cocktails to target a crowd gathered in support of Israeli hostages last year. At least 12 people were injured and one later died.

Authorities allege the incident was planned over the course of a year. They said he researched explosives before travelling from Colorado Springs to Boulder. Court documents state that Soliman told police he wanted to “kill all Zionist people.”

Alongside the state murder charge, he also faces a federal hate crime charge. The state case includes more than 100 charges, among them attempted murder, assault, and explosives-related offences.

The guilty plea marks a significant development in a case that has drawn national attention to the rise in politically motivated violence.
