Legesse Tulu Sworn In as Ethiopian Ambassador Amid Calls to Deepen Djibouti Ties

Legesse Tulu (PhD), former Minister of the Government Communication Service and chairman of the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation board, has officially assumed his role as Ethiopia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Djibouti, Fana Media Corporation reports.

President Taye Atske Selassie presented Ambassador Legesse with his credentials, and the oath of office was administered by Tewodros Mihret, President of the Federal Supreme Court.

A seasoned politician and academic with a background in economics and public communications, Legesse Tulu (PhD) has previously served as a government spokesperson and led Ethiopia’s efforts to modernise public communication systems. During the ceremony, President Taye encouraged him to strengthen the longstanding political, economic, and social ties between Ethiopia and Djibouti.

The event was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedion Timothewos and State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye.
