Kyndryl has appointed Ellen Johnson as incoming chief financial officer and Andrew Bonzani as general counsel and secretary, as the IT infrastructure services provider strengthens its senior leadership team following a global executive search focused on operational and public company experience.

The appointments come as the company sharpens its growth strategy across mission-critical enterprise technology services, where it supports large-scale infrastructure systems for clients in more than 60 countries.

Chief executive Martin Schroeter said the new executives bring experience in financial discipline, governance and operational execution, adding that their backgrounds would support the company’s focus on complex customer needs and business performance.

Johnson will join the company on July 20 and assume the CFO role on August 6, transitioning from Interpublic Group, where she served as executive vice president and CFO from 2020 to 2025. Her earlier career at IPG included multiple senior finance roles spanning treasury, international finance and business unit-level financial leadership.

She also serves on the board of Nexstar Media Group and has previously been an advisor in residence at the EY Center for Executive Leadership. Johnson holds an MBA in finance from New York University Stern School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany.

Andrew Bonzani’s appointment takes effect immediately. He previously held senior legal roles at Interpublic Group, including executive vice president and general counsel, and spent 18 years in IBM’s legal department, where he oversaw corporate legal functions as vice president, assistant general counsel and secretary.

Bonzani holds a law degree from St. John’s University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Binghamton University.

Kyndryl said interim CFO Harsh Chugh will continue in the role until August 5 and assist with the transition before remaining with the company in another capacity. Interim general counsel Mark Ringes will return to his role as deputy general counsel.
