North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will attend a defense exhibition in Beijing next week, China's Foreign Ministry said.
This is believed to be Kim Jong-un's first international leader-to-leader relationship.
China's defense festival, known as "Victory Day," commemorates the 80th anniversary of its war with Japan and the end of World War II.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is among the 26 world leaders expected to attend the event.
The leaders are gathering just days after President Donald Trump said he would like to meet Kim Jong Un.
China will display hundreds of warplanes, tanks, and its modern weapons, including its anti-drone system, at the festival.
Tens of thousands of soldiers, including members of the Chinese military and retired soldiers, are expected to march from Tiananmen Square to the parade grounds during the Defense Day celebrations.
