Reporter Newspaper Senior Editor, Journalist Yonas Amare, was released on Friday, August 22, 2017, at 3:00 PM.

It was also announced that Journalist Abdul Samed Mohamed, the host of the Saturday Market Show on Ahad FM 94.3 FM Radio, was also released.

Journalist Yonas was released from prison on the tenth day of his detention, while journalist Abdul Samed was released on the 12th day of his detention.

There was no detailed information available on who kidnapped the journalists, where they are being held, or whether they have been physically harmed.

It is recalled that masked assailants abducted journalist Yonas from his Koye Feche condominium in Sheger city on August 15, 2025.
