KCB Bank Tanzania has partnered with PayPal to enable customers to receive international payments, make eligible global transactions and withdraw funds directly through its mobile banking application.

The integration allows customers to create or link PayPal accounts through the KCB Mobile App, connecting the bank’s digital platform with PayPal’s international payments network.

Under the arrangement, customers will be able to receive payments from international clients, make eligible payments to merchants and service providers that accept PayPal, and transfer their PayPal balances into KCB accounts in Tanzanian shillings.

The service is expected to serve freelancers, entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises, tourism operators and content creators who receive payments from overseas clients and customers.

The partnership comes as more Tanzanian businesses and individuals engage in cross-border digital commerce, including providing services to international clients and selling products to overseas markets.

Josina Njambi, head of digital financial services at KCB Bank Tanzania, said the partnership would make it easier for customers to access international payment services through their existing banking platform.

"Our partnership with PayPal is an important milestone in our ambition to connect Tanzanians more seamlessly to the global digital economy," she said.

The integration also complements the bank’s recently launched "Ina-Make Cents" campaign, which uses humour and everyday financial behaviour to encourage customers to make more informed digital banking choices.

KCB Bank Tanzania said customers would be able to access PayPal and other digital banking services through the mobile application as part of its efforts to expand its digital financial services.
