Reporter newspaper staff member Yonas Amare and veteran journalist Abdulsameed Mohamed have said that their whereabouts are still unknown, despite the fact that days have passed since various bodies took them.

Journalist Abdulsameed, who has been missing for about a week, has been seen in police custody, but it is not known where he is being held, and neither his lawyer nor his family has been allowed to see him.

The editor-in-chief of the Reporter newspaper said that it was not clear where journalist Yonas was or by whom he was taken, and that he was reportedly taken by "people wearing masks and what appeared to be military uniforms" on Wednesday.

Their colleagues also stated that there is no information yet on whether the two journalists are still under the control of security forces or have been brought to court.

Abdulsameed, who has spent nearly 30 years as a journalist, is the co-producer of the 'Terek' and 'Kedame Gebeya' programs broadcast on Ahadu Radio.
