An Israeli airstrike struck a café at Gaza’s emergency seaport on Sunday, killing at least two Palestinians and injuring 12 others, according to health officials. The venue was crowded with people celebrating public holidays at the time of the attack.

The café was located on a floating dock off Gaza’s coast, part of a temporary emergency seaport installation.

The strike comes amid a ceasefire framework linked to US President Donald Trump, which was intended to halt fighting but has not prevented continued Israeli military operations in Gaza.

Indirect talks between Israel and Hamas remain deadlocked over the next phase of the agreement, including Hamas’s disarmament and Israeli military withdrawal from parts of the enclave.

Under the current arrangement, Israel maintains control over more than half of Gaza, while Hamas holds a smaller coastal area, leaving the territory divided.

Gaza health officials say around 900 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire took effect.
