The inter-Religious council of ethiopia announced that its investigation has confirmed that the attack in the RCI zone of the Oromia region was carried out "without discrimination of religion or race."

The inter-Religious council of ethiopia has established a task force consisting of representatives from relevant stakeholders to investigate the problems that have arisen in Guna, Merti, Sherka and Holonko Wabi districts of the Oromia Regional State, Arsi Zone, and deployed them to the affected districts on November 5, 2025.

The Inquiry Committee went to the four districts of the ARSI Zone where the problem occurred in person and investigated the matter for five consecutive days. On November 10, 2025, the Inquiry Committee's Chairman and Deputy Chairman released the first-stage report.

The committee of inquiry stated that it "received information from the local community and the affected parties that there were killings, fighting, and destruction of property in the Guna, Merti, Sherka, and Holonko Wabi districts."

"The people who were killed, as well as the citizens who suffered physical injuries and property damage, were not followers or servants of a single religion," it said;

"The report clearly shows that killings and attacks took place regardless of religion or race."
